About to make your first knitted dog? Remember that the knitting may be most of the work, but the key to creating brilliant knitted toys is the making up.

Take it slowly, working in daylight if you can and using matching yarn to sew up your pieces. Stuff your toy firmly (it often takes more stuffing than you’d expect!) and use a pencil or the blunt end of a needle to push the stuffing into all the corners.

When you’re done, you’ll have a finished pup who’s all ready for cuddles!
